How to Reach by car usand map routes
From Rome or Milan take the "A1" and exit "Valdichiana. Take the highway to Perugia and leave only after 3 km, then follow the signals for Cortona. (It is recommended during the journey to stop at the Abbey of Farneta, to admire the magnificent crypt of the ninth century). Continuing for about 10 km in direction of Cortona, but 100 meters before the town of Camucia you will reach our farm “IL BORGO”.

The closest station is Camucia, but Intercity and Eurostar stop usually in Terontola , which is about 10 km from Cortona.

The farmhouse “ Il Borgo” is in a strategic position for those who wish, during their holiday, visit the main site of historical, cultural and gastronomic interest of Tuscany and Umbria. Cortona is in a privileged position, because is situated halfway towards the Tyrrhenian coast and the Adriatic, a few kilometers from the border between Tuscany and Umbria and is also located near the center of an ideal triangle, which includes cities such as Arezzo, Siena and Perugia, whose artistic and historical importance is truly remarkable. Montalcino and Pienza
The first is famous for Brunello (one of the most famous wines in world) and its other wines, the second for tasty pecorino (seasoned, covered with ash and leaves of walnuts, with grapes, pit, etc..) It is also also famous for their palaces, their squares and the many churches.You can not loose the opportunity of visiting the Diocesan Museum of Montalcino, which houses are painted form artistsof the Senese school of the XIV and XV century.

Siena
Approximately is 60km far from Cortona and it is one of the most famous cities in Tuscany for its art, its history and its traditions. The Cathedral of Siena is one of the most illustrious Italian masterpieces of Romanesque.It is also worthful to see Piazza del Campo, which, with its original shape valve made from shells, has always been the center of the city. Among the various events held in Siena the most famous is the Palio, a horse race that is very spectacular and takes place in Piazza del Campo twice a year, on July 2 and August 16. |

Arezzo
Its origins are Etruscan and perhaps was a home for the 12 Etruscan Lucumonie. Arezzo has still a precious history, starting with the people born here and become famous in the world: Caio Cilnio Maecenas, Petrarch, Vasari, Francesco Redi, Guido d'Arezzo e l'Aretino. In addition to the important monuments and churches, the old town of Arezzo deserves a thorough visit, during which you will discover beautiful buildings, characteristic architectural aspects and an evocative atmosphere. |

Umbria e Lago Trasimeno
It is worthful to have a half day trip to the Trasimeno Lake and its area that includes small countries such as as Castiglione del Lago, Tuoro ,Passignano, San Feliciano and Monte del Lago. Castiglione del Lago is, in summer, pleasant seaside resort and holiday. The symbol of Castiglion del Lago is the thirteenth-century castle, with four small towers and a high tower known as the Lion Rock. |

Perugia
Etruscan City, Perugia is still surrounded by large walls built by its founders and its heart is Piazza IV November. You can see here Corso Vannucci and the most important and well-known monuments: the Fontana Maggiore, the Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Priori. Among the various events taking place in the city we must remember remember Umbria Jazz (the first half of July), and Euro-Chocolate ,a big fair with chocolate from all around the world.

Assisi and Gubbio
Assisi, passed into history for being the birthplace of St. Francis, is without doubt the most important center for religious tourism in the center of Italy. Just outside the city are to visit the convent ,built around the church of San Damiano, the Hermitage of Prisons immersed in the greenery of Mount Subasio and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Within the walls stands the Basilica of St. Francis, which consists of two overlapping churches. The church has in the lower crypt behind the altar of the holy sarcophagus. You have also to visit In Assisi the Basilica of St. Clare, who keeps inside the body of St Francis' friend and founder of the Poor Clares.
Gubbio instead experienced the greatest power and splendor in sec. XIV. On suggestive Piazza della Signoria overlook Palazzo dei Consoli and Palazzo Pretorio. On 15 May, on the eve of the feast of the patron Saint Ubaldo, takes place in Gubbio the traditional “Corsa dei Ceri” |
